Honggu (Martina) Qi began studying the cello at the age of nine and has studied with Mr. Zhu Mu since 2017. In 2019,
She was admitted to the Affiliated High School of the Conservatory of Music in Beijing, one of China's top pre-college music institutions, recognized for her outstanding academic and artistic achievements.
In 2023, she was accepted into the Colburn Music Academy in Los Angeles. In 2025, she was awarded a full scholarship to pursue her undergraduate studies at the Colburn Conservatory of Music, where she continues her studies under world-renowned cellist Clive Greensmith.
From an early stage, Honggu(Martina) Qi demonstrated exceptional musical talent and quickly gained public attention.
In 2019, she performed Saint-Saëns' Cello Concerto in A Minor at the Zhuhai HUAFA Grand Theatre and was selected to
participate in the prestigious Zhuhai International String Master Class, where she received high praise from Professor Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt of the Weimar University of Music and Professor Orfeo Mandozzi of the Zurich University of the Arts.
Her achievements in international competitions are particularly notable. She won First Prize in the Youth Division of the Salzburg Musician Competition (2020), Second Prize at the Hengqin Cup Cello Competition held at the
Zhuhai Grand Theatre (2021), and the Grand Prize at the Isai International Competition (2022). That same year,
she was invited to perform at the International Strings Chamber Music Festival hosted by the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, where her virtuosic interpretation earned her First Prize.
Honggu(Martina) Qi's career in performance continues to grow steadily. In 2023, she performed with an orchestra at Beijing Zhongshan Concert Hall. In July 2024, she gave a solo performance of Lalo's Cello Concerto as a featured soloist at the Zhuhai Mozart Theatre. In August, she had successfully participated in the top chamber competition
(Fischoff Chamber Competition). She successfully performed Beethoven's and Ginastera's string quartet chamber music. She also performed lots of concerts during this semester at Colburn School, including Zipper Hall and Theyer Hall. In the same year, Honggu successfully presented multiple solo recitals at Zipper Hall and Thayer Hall at the Colburn School.
In 2025, she was recommended by the Colburn School to participate in a one-month exchange program at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland. In March, she was awarded a full scholarship to attend the Morningside Music Bridge Festival. In June, she received high praise from numerous professors and professional musicians at the Texas Cellos Festival and was subsequently invited to return as a full scholarship participant for the following year. That same month, she received a personal invitation from Martti Rousi-one of Finland's most distinguished artists, to attend and perform at his cello festival, which she will take part in during August of the same year.
She will officially begin her undergraduate studies at the Colburn Conservatory of Music in the fall of 2025, continuing to expand her artistic vision and global presence as one of the most promising young cellists of her generation.

祁虹谷的演出事业稳步发展。2023年，她在北京中山音乐堂与乐团合作演出。2024年7月，她在珠海莫扎特剧院成功举办了拉罗《大提琴协奏曲》的独奏音乐会。8月，她参加了世界顶级的菲肖夫室内乐比赛（Fischoff Chamber Competition），并与她的四重奏团“Tintara弦乐四重奏”合作演奏贝多芬与金纳斯特拉的弦乐四重奏作品。同年，她还在科尔本学院的齐柏音乐厅（Zipper Hall）与塞尔音乐厅（Thayer Hall）多次举办独奏音乐会。
2025年，她受科尔本学院推荐，前往芬兰赫尔辛基的西贝柳斯学院（Sibelius Academy）参加为期一个月的交流项目。同年3月，她获得全额奖学金，参加晨兴音乐桥音乐节（Morningside Music Bridge Festival）。6月，她在德克萨斯大提琴音乐节（Texas Cellos Festival）中受到众多教授和专业音乐家的高度评价，并受邀以全额奖学金身份再次参加次年音乐节。同月，她还收到芬兰著名大提琴家马尔蒂·劳西（Martti Rousi）的亲自邀请，将于同年8月参加并演出于其举办的大提琴音乐节。
她将于2025年秋季正式进入科尔本音乐学院本科部，继续拓展她的艺术视野与国际影响力，成为当代最具潜力的青年大提琴家之一。
